Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)

Overview

At Posterity Foundation, we believe that diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) are the cornerstones of a thriving, empowered society. Our mission is to foster environments where people from all backgrounds—irrespective of gender, ability, or socio-economic status—are welcomed, included, and given equal opportunities to succeed. By advocating for DEIB in workplaces and communities, we not only break down barriers but also create lasting cultural and systemic change. To address the challenges, Posterity Foundation leads several impactful initiatives aimed at promoting DEIB in both corporate and community settings.

Key Issues

01

Workplace Gender Disparities

Women make up only 23.4% of the labor force, a stark reflection of ongoing gender bias and limited opportunities for female professionals, especially in leadership roles. This is far lower than the global average of around 52%. Various factors contribute to this low participation rate, including societal norms, gender bias, and lack of opportunities, particularly in leadership roles.

02

Inclusion of People with Disabilities (PWD)

India has almost 3 crore people with disability (PwD) of which around 1.3 crore is employable but only 34 lakh of them have been employed

03

Veterans in Civilian Roles

In India, veterans transitioning into civilian roles face significant challenges, with many requiring reskilling to adapt to the demands of the modern job market. Around 60% of veterans need to upgrade their skills to align with civilian job requirements

Over 60,000 veterans transition to civilian life annually, with corporate sectors like finance, IT, consulting, and aerospace showing a growing interest in hiring veterans. However, many veterans are still funneled into security roles, highlighting the need for broader corporate engagement

04

Cultural Barriers

Many workplaces still struggle to address unconscious biases and stereotypes, creating environments where marginalized groups feel excluded and undervalued.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Initiatives

01.

Gender Inclusion Programs

We run workshops and training sessions to break gender stereotypes, advocate for equal pay, and encourage organizations to create policies supporting women, such as flexible working hours, parental leave, and anti-harassment measures.

02.

PWD and Accessibility

We actively work towards creating a more inclusive society by supporting Persons with Disabilities (PwD). We focus on enhancing accessibility in workplaces, providing necessary infrastructure, and facilitating employment opportunities. Our initiatives help PwD individuals gain dignified employment, empowering them to lead independent lives. Through partnerships with corporates, we strive to break barriers, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to contribute to the workforce and society at large.

03.

Supporting Veterans

We are dedicated to empowering veterans through social impact. Our initiatives aim to support ex-servicemen in their transition to civilian life by offering skill development, career counseling, and job placement services. We collaborate with organizations to create opportunities that honor the skills and dedication veterans bring, fostering their continued contribution to society.
