Unemployment

India’s unemployment rate hovers around 7-8% as of 2024, with youth unemployment significantly higher, especially in urban areas where it can exceed 20%. This disparity highlights the need for skills that match market demands.

Skill Mismatch

Over 53% of Indian workers lack the necessary skills to be employable in the modern workforce. There’s a glaring gap between industry requirements and the skills possessed by job seekers, particularly in sectors such as technology, manufacturing, and services.

Low Female Workforce Participation

As of 2024, India’s female labor force participation rate remains critically low at 23.4%, one of the lowest in the world. Social barriers, gender biases, and lack of access to training programs further limit women’s employment opportunities.
